[11:31:59 PM] blueduelrod: I'll go change right now then. I'll wait for you out front.
[11:35:15 PM] no devilgene plz: I'll be there in about twenty minutes.
[11:36:30 PM] blueduelrod: Alright.
It was almost exactly twenty minutes later. And a car pulled up in front of Kiliks apartment. Jin had wanted to borrow his Uncles car, but said Uncle wasn't being cooperative. So, Jin did the only other thing he could think of. Rent a car...a Jaguar X-type to be exact.
Kilik was looking up to the stars when he noticed a dark, expensive car was pulling up in front of the Sierra Towers. Who was that? The man with the gentle eyes walked over to see who it was.
Jin parked the car and opened the door. He stepped out, pulling the brown jacket closer. It was rather cold, considering. "Sorry, I didn't think my bike would be such a good idea."
Fixing his collar a bit, Kilik walked over to the taller fighter. "Well, I suppose that makes sense. You pretty much told me to dress to impress after all." He was about to ask again where he was going, but let the element of surprise do its work. "Should we get going then?"
"I did." Jin said before moving to open the door for Kilik. It was the polite thing to do, afterall. Jin had no idea what he was really doing. But, he hoped that it would turn out okay. "Dinner first, sound good?"
"Sure," Kilik answered and went in. This was kinda nice, he thought. It wasn't everyday that the rod wielder was treated like this. He didn't know where they were going, and left everything else up to Jin.
"Good." Jin started the car back up. "I found a restaurant that I think you may like. It's Mediterranean."
Kilik really didn't have a preference on what to eat. "Alright." And left the driving up to Jin, mostly looking at the window on his side and occasionally looked to the driving Jin.
It didn't take long to get to the restaurant, and of course there was valet. Jin rarely went to places like this, unless his Uncle felt like eating out. "I hope this isn't too much..."
The door was opened for the both of them. Valet parking for the win. "Oh no, not at all." Liar. This was quite much. But he didn't let it bother him too much. Kilik has never been to a place like this, and he felt like he was being pampered. "So... do we just... go in or are they going to lead us in...?" He was a little confused.
"Ah. We go in, and then they will take us to our seats." Luckily, Jin had a chance to eat in places like this before. "I haven't been to this place before. I heard it has a nice jazz trio.."
As they entered, there was a live jazz band playing smooth music. It was nice, Kilik thought. They were finally led to their seats and and handed a menu. Kilik browsed and was quite surprised. "Umm... Jin?"
Jin looked up from the menu. He was still trying to decide what he wanted from the menu. "Is...is there a problem?"
"Are... Are you sure..." Kilik paused for a bit before continuing. "Are you sure about this? This is... this is a little expensive, don't you think?" Imposition was something that Kilik didn't like doing. With anyone.
Jin sighed quietly. "I need to do something with my inheritence, Kilik. As it is, its just sitting in the bank. " There was probably more money than Jin could spend in his lifeltime. "Don't worry about it."
"I... I guess..." Kilik answered, still feeling a little bad that someone would spend this amount of money on him. But if it would make Jin happy... So Kilik started to actually browse the menu but couldn't decide what to get. "What are you having, Jin? I can't seem to decide."
Jin looked up from the menu. "I was thinking about the steak vesuvio. Hm. Or ,maybe the chicken." There was too many choices to make.
"You know, the Capellini Bianchini looks good," the rod wielder stated. If he couldn't decide by the time the waiter got around, he would pick that. And maybe a glass of lemonade if they had some.
"You can pick whichever you want." Jin said quietly. He was enjoying the music and the atmosphere. "I just wanted it to be a nice dinner."
The atmosphere was quite relaxing, Kilik had to admit. As soon as the waiter got there, he ordered the Capellini Bianchini and a fountain lemonade and gave the menu to the waiter. Somehow, Kilik was feeling a bit awkward. He had never gone out on a date like this before, and he wasn't sure what else to expect.
Jin was just nervous. Dates were definately not his thing, especially since this was his first one. It also didn't help that a certain uncle wasnt around to get help from "You don't have to get home too early, do you?"
The rod-wielder shook his head. "I really don't have a set time I need to be home. I told them I'd be out and probably be out to a friends' house for the night. As long as they know where I am and where I'll be, they're alright with it." And this was the sort of trust that most teenagers don't get from their parents.
"I was just a bit worried. I know some parents are really picky. Must be home at ten. Things like that. My...Grandfather was like that." Except the curfew was eight. "Good. I thought we could sit down after dinner and talk someplace..."
"We could do that," Kilik said. And he could feel it. Jin was nervous. And there was something else he could feel but it was faint. At this point, he just paid attention to the band that was playing and watched them. If he could, he'd come here as much as he could. It was so relaxing at this restaurant.
"I'm not to familiar with the area though..." Jin said quietly. "So, I know of this place now and my apartment." He trailed off slowly, ignoring that small piece that nagged him to be more agressive. "I heard the food here was good..."
"We could go to your apartment if you'd like," Kilik said, turning his head back to Jin. So he wanted to talk, huh... The rod-wielder didn't know what Jin wanted to talk about but he figured that he wanted to be alone with him.
"I just thought it would be nice...and.." He wasn't too sure what he really wanted, but everyone told him the first step was talking. "I think the food is coming..."
And indeed it was. He got his Capellini Bianchini and his lemonade. "This looks really good," Kilik said and took a small bite. Yep. As he expected, it was really good.
Jin started to cut his steak very carefully, before taking a small bite. "It is, did you want to try mine?" He offered his fork to Kilik.
"Hmm?" Kilik looked at Jin as he offered his food to him. "Umm, sure." The rod-wielder took the fork from Jin and ate what was on it. Jin's food was good, too. Giving the fork back, he said, "That's good, Jin."
"I'm not usually a big fan of steak, but it looked really good in the picture.." Jin took a small sip of the tea he had ordered. "I wasn't sure you would even go out with me...I'm still a bit nervous."
"No need to feel nervous," Kilik said after taking a small bite of his order. "I really don't have a reason to say no to you, Jin. At least you haven't given me one." Then he took another bite of his dish.
"Well, there are some obvious reasons. But, I don't know." He looked up. "But, I'm glad you did say yes. Even after I made a fool out of myself at the party.."
"Don't worry about it so much, Jin," Kilik answered and drank a small gulp of his lemonade. "Like I said, I don't think of you any differently than when we first met and went out for Starbucks."
Jin smiled faintly. "Oh. Okay, I'm just...I dont know." He wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing. "I really do like you Kilik."
Well that wasn't a surprise to Kilik. "You're not so bad either, Jin. And to be honest, I was sure of that after that night we went out for coffee. Then again, being empathic does that to you."
"Well. Most people are too put off by the way I act around them." Jin knew that he could be rather aloof. He wanted to get away from that, but it was rather hard. Especially with all the people from his past showing up.
"If they're too put off, that means they're just judgemental fools," Kilik remarked. "Can't judge a book by its cover. People just need to accept others for who they are." And Kilik took another bite of his bianchini.
"You can't blame them. Appearances are a big part of meeting people now. Most people can't read emotions like you can, so they have to look from the outside. " Jin shrugged faintly. "I don't really mind. It just means the shallow people leave me alone. It's not that bad of a situation.."
"I guess not," Kilik answered. "It just seems unfair, that's all." Then again, most people aren't Kilik. Most people don't read emotions, let alone feel them as well. He didn't know why he was blessed or cursed with this gift, but he just dealt with it as things came.
"I suppose it's not fair." Jin pushed the last bit of his food away, since it was now finished. "There's always the good eggs and the bad eggs in the dozen... or something like that."
Kilik finished his own food and took the last gulp of his lemonade. "That's true. They say the bad and the good makes the world go 'round. At least that's what my dad liked to tell me when I was a little kid."
"Fathers say things like that. I think it's in their job description." Unless your name was Kazuya. Then you were thrown into volcanoes and you ignore your son.
But if you were thrown into a volcano for being honorable and honest, wouldn't you throw hissy emo fits, too? "It probably is. I guess it isn't all that bad even if it's just recently that I found out that I was adopted."
"Sometimes being adopted is better than your real family." Not, that Jin has any experience with that, none at all. "I'd glad trade my grandfather for anyone."
"Do you really want to, though?" Kilik asked. He didn't think it would be too much different from being with real parents. That is... unless special circumstances were involved, which seemed to be the case for Jin.
"My grandfather...is a very..." [cruel...bastard...] "strict man. He's not one anyone would wish to be around if they had a choice..."
"I believe you," the rod wielder answered. "At least you have a grandfather. All I remember is being trained by someone who I considered a grandfather. But... he's gone now."
"I'm sure they're out there somewhere. I could help you find them...." jin had plenty of resources that he could use to help Kilik, and he was completely willing.
"No no, he's gone. As in dead." And because of that, Kilik had been training on his own. And he needed a new sparring partner. And one that uses weapons.
"Oh..." Jin wanted to ask about his other family. Maybe, he had parents out there that could be found. But, he felt like it wasn't his place to ask such questions at the moment.
Even if Jin asked, Kilik wouldn't know how to answer because he had no idea where his real parents were. "Thanks for taking me here, though. I really like this place."
"It's not a problem...I wanted to do something nice for you..." And he put his credit card down onto the clipboard for the waiter. "Did you want desert?"
"No, I think I'm okay," Kilik answered. "So does that mean we're going to your place while we're on this date?" he asked, trying to make things a little more interesting.
"It would be nice. I don't feel too comfortable talking in a crowded place like this..." In all reality, Jin didn't feel comfortable in the crowd at all.
"Sure." He was up for that. While Kilik could tolerate being in crowds, he preferred to be away from them. He didn't like attracting attention or gaining it.
Once Jin recieved his credit card back he stood slowly. There wasn't much else to do. He couldn't ask Kilik to dance or anything like that. "Ready..?" he questioned quietly.
Kilik nodded and stood up. If Kilik was asked to dance, he wouldn't hesitate and probably unknowingly show off his unknown talents. But for now, Kilik would be glad to be at Jin's place so that they could talk.
The car was delivered as requested, valet parking fopr the win. "At least, this place isn't too far from home." He had actually considered going down to Monterey for all of two minutes, before he realized it was a long drive.
Maybe they could go some other time. But for now, being close to home was fitting. They finally arrived back at Jin's place and since there were no butlers, he opened the door to get out and closed it.
There could be butlers, but Jin thought it was a little over the top. "We can sit on the balcony. It has a nice view of the city...especially in the evening."
"Okay," Kilik nodded and followed Jin inside his place. Looks like he'll have to crash here for the night. It's late. Now, Kilik just wondered what he had wanted to talk about.
Jin wasn't sure what he wanted to talk about. He put his key into the door and then the elevator so they could get access to the penthouses. "San Francisco isn't much like Sydney....different stars..."
The rod wielder took a seat next to Jin. "You... you came from Australia?" Kilik asked. "Well... that's probably because you were on the bottom half of the planet."
"I've been..." he considered his words carefully. "traveling alot recently. I came from Japan.. then to Australia..then here..."
"There's more to it than that, is there?" Kilik asked. "But the real question is... does that matter right now?" The rod wielder leaned back at the chair and looked up above at the stars.
"Honestly. It's just hard for me to stay in one place at a time...people I don't really want to see manage to show up..."
"But you don't have control over that," Kilik reminded him. "All you can really do is make the best of it. 'Cause hell... if I had a choice, there are a few people I don't want to see."
"You'd think if I go across the Pacific Ocean, they wouldn't end up here." He shrugged faintly. "As long as my immediate family doesn't show up. I think I'll be fine. I don't know what I would do if my father or grandfather showed up." Probably lose it.
"The only thing we can do right now is hope, right?" Kilik put a hand on Jin's shoulder, in an attempt to make him feel more at ease. "If they do, then we can deal with it accordingly. No use really worrying about it now."
"That's true. I'm rather content living here. I wouldn't want it to end. Not yet, at least." He even had his uncle here. It made things easier. "Now if I could do something about Hwoarang..."
"Hwoarang...? That new Korean senior that I almost mistook for Yunsung?" Kilik asked.
"That would be him." Jin sighed faintly. "He..has this issue with wanting to fight me twenty-four seven. Just because he couldn't beat me the first time..."
"Hmm... maybe I should duel him..." Kilik scratched his chin a bit. With all the days that Kilik had sparred, he hasn't lost a match. "Maybe teach him a lesson..."
"Ah. I don't think it's a good idea. He'll just complain and say that you cheated." Jin rolled his eyes. "I haven't bothered to fight him since..."
"Not worth it then..." Kilik shrugged a bit, and looked back up at the stars. "You know, the stars are clearer out at the mountains and they're awesome to look at."
"I haven't been up there. I wanted to go to Monterey though. I heard that it's really nice down there..."
"I've been there once. The beaches are nice, and they have this really cool aquarium. You can go scuba diving there, too." Kilik had forgotten how he liked going to the beach.
"Ah...I've been diving in Australia. It's very interesting. I want to go back and visit one day..." He grinned a bit. "It's only a planetrip away too."
"Yeah... a really expensive plane trip," Kilik added. It's not like he could afford that sort of plane trip, anyway.
"Not really..." Jin mumbled. "Winter break is coming up. Well, it would be summer break for them down there..."
"A round-trip ticket to Melbourne, according to my dad, runs around $800. I don't think I'm ready to spend that much money," Kilik subtly protested.
"Who said you'd have to." Jin pointed out. He told Kilik before that he had money to burn. "It would be an interesting trip."
Just because Jin had money to burn didn't mean that it would be spent because of Kilik. "You're not seeing my point, Jin."
"My mother always said that if you have something to give, you should give it."
"My mother also told me to try and not impose at all," Kilik added.
Jin smiled faintly. "It's not imposing at all." He stared up at the stars for a bit. "I wouldn't mind doing something like that for all my friends..."
"I could understand doing little things here and there," Kilik started. "But to spend almost a grand and be willing to do it? It'd somehow make me feel bad, Jin."
"Mm.. well. I can understand that..." at least a little bit. Jin didn't see the point of money anyway, so spending it for moments that you'd remember for the rest of your life wasn't out of the question.
"Besides, I think money just complicated a lot of things. Don't get me wrong, though. I appreciate money for what it is," Kilik said. But for now, he'd rather relax a bit and look at the stars some more.
"Well, honestly....when it comes to money... spending almost a grand.." he mumbled this last piece. "Really is like spending five bucks..."
"That's because most people don't have as much money as you do, Jin," Kilik reminded him, still paying attention, but appreciating the beauty that is the stars.
"Do you think I'm flaunting my money too much." Jnasked quietly. He didn't want to seem like the rich stuckup type.
"No, you certainly don't seem to be the type," Kilik answered. "At least you don't give off those sort of vibes." Otherwise, Kilik wouldn't be talking to him right now. But even at a first impression case, Kilik wouldn't think of Jin that way.
"I like spending money on other people though." He mumbled. "Especially people I like." Jin glanced up at the stars. "My mother used to tell me stories about the stars..."
"Yeah? What sort of stories?" Kilik asked. He had been told of stories himself about the same old man that he mentioned to Jin earlier during dinner, but he was more interested in what Jin had to say about it.
"She mentioned that each one represented our ancestors. It was a bit silly...but, I like to think she's watching over me..."
Fortunately, Kilik was told something close to that. "I was told that when we die, we turn into stars up there. I'm more than positive she's watching over you."
"Yeah." Jin grew rather quiet then. He was lost in thought about his mother, yet again.
"Isn't it enough to feel like that she's watching you though?" Kilik asked. He started to reminisce about his own master when he stared at the constellation Pisces.
"At times. But, others I wish she was here to give me guidance."
"Believe in yourself, Jin," Kilik advised. "That's what my master used to tell me a lot before he died. It was something I always remembered him by."
"Oh, it's not exactly what I meant. But, at least I have my uncle even if he likes to give roundabout advice."
"It's almost the same thing," Kilik started to answer. "But I think I know what you mean." Then silence. Kilik wasn't sure how to feel about this sort of silence.
It wasn't a bad silence, at least Jin didn't believe it was. Shifting a bit, he turned to stare at Kilik.
"Hmm?" Kilik noticed that Jin was staring at him, and turned to the taller man's direction. "Is there something wrong?"
Jin blinked and blushed faintly. "N-no nothing's wrong..." He quickly shifted so he could stare off into the city.
The rod wielder sat up and looked to his right. To Jin. "Are you sure?" he asked. He thought that Jin may have forgotten who he was dealing with.
"Nothing is wrong. Honestly. I was just watching you..." He mumbled. He probably shoul have held that one to himself. Too late now.
And it seems like he did. "Honestly?" Kilik asked. And yes, it was a little too late now. "Sometimes, you really make me wonder, Jin."
"How do I make you wonder...?" He questioned carefully. He was curious, yes. But, still he wasn't sure if he wanted to know the answer.
"You make me wonder what you really feel sometimes," Kilik said. He felt as if Jin's emotions were on the fritz of confusion at the moment. But for the mean time, that's all he'd say about this.
"I feel a lot of things Kilik. Usually all at once, I wish I could make sense of it sometimes..." He sighed. "There's always that part of me who is always giving me conflicting emotions."
"Yes, I know that," Kilik said with a straight face. "I'm aware that your core has confusing emotions as it is, but that other part of you really makes things all better." Of course, that was sarcasm.
"Do you want me to be honest, Kilik? At this moment, the only thing I can think of his how your skin would feel if I touched it."
"Then touch it," Kilik said. He held out his hand for Jin so he can hold it. The rod-wielder was ready, and aware of what was inside of Jin.
Jin reached out his hand slowly. What was he doing, he didn't deserve anything like this. Even if it was a simple touch. He was a monster, wasn't he. "Are you sure..."
"If I wasn't, would my hand be reaching out to yours right now?" Kilik asked. Now was Jin going to take Kilik's hand or not?
He did so. He was a bit shakey. Because, he wondered exactly what Kilik woudl feel when they touched. "I...I don't know. I'm just a bit worried.."
The rod-wielder closed his eyes. He felt a lot of confusion, admiration, and self-consciousness of different types. But deeper within, there was something of an evil intent. This must have been what he was feeling. To say the least, Jin had control of it. For now. Kilik opened his eyes again still looking at Jin and still holding his hand. "No need to worry, Jin. I've had much worse than this, and I didn't even need to touch it."
"I've been....trying to control it for long, it's almost second nature now. But, there are times where it wants to get out. When Hwoarang showed up at the party...it wanted to throw him out. And now...now...what it wants with you. It's..."
"I know," Kilik said, not making Jin say what the devil part of him wants. "But I'm asking you. What do you want, Jin? Not the other entity. I mean you."
"I want...the same thing....at least when it comes to you. I've never found someone who could so easily accept everything about me...and...that I can have an actual conversation with." Because Xiaoyu accepted things, she was just an airhead and a girl.
"I don't see why I wouldn't be accepting of it, Jin," Kilik started. "I've been through much worse. Much worse than what I felt." The rod-wielder moved closer to Jin. "So tell me about this thing that you want."
Jin looked up. "I'd like to be closer to you. To...I don't know...I'm not used to these feelings. I've closed myself off to them for so long."
"I haven't had much experience with them myself," Kilik confessed. "A few girls have expressed crushes on me, but the only person who's expressed some sort of liking for me was Yunsung, oddly enough." The rod-wielder took a short breath, and started talking again. "But how much closer do you want to become with me?"
"As close as possible...I think. I...don't have an interest in girls. I don't want to have my curse passed on to anyone else."
"Is it only because of that?" Kilik asked.
"No. No. No. It's not like that. I really do like you. I haven't felt this way for anyone."
"I know..." Kilik said. "I know you like me. I just... I just wanted to know if you were sure." Kilik now forgot the fact that he was still holdin Jin's hand. At this point, he didn't know what to do or say.
"You ask me these questions...and I don't how you feel." Jin pointed out. This had seemed to be about him a lot, when he wanted it to be the other way.
"You're a really nice guy, Jin," Kilik pointed out. "I've never had anyone treat me to an expensive restaurant like that, or even go out of your way to make sure that we're having a good time. I like you, Jin. I think it's safe to say that I'm leaving things up to you as to how far you want to take them, Jin. If you want to be closer to me, then let's try that. I haven't really had anyone tell me that they wanted to be closer to me."
"Leaving it up to me..." He wasn't sure how to take that. "Well,I'd like to get closer...would you...do me the honor of going out with me.."
"Go out with you?" Kilik asked. "Are you... are you asking me to be your boyfriend?" he asked, a little dumbfounded.
"I think I am. Sounds like it." He nodded. "I am...asking you to be...my boyfriend.." Jin wondered if it was too abrupt. But, no guts no glory? Or something...
"Don't you think you're rushing the boyfriend thing a little fast, though?" Kilik asked. But of course, Kilik was still holding Jin's hand. Sincerity was obviously there. "That's okay, though. Seems like you've been through a lot and I'm sure you'll be happier. Alright."
"Maybe I am. I don't know. I'm just going by what's in my heart. I've always lived by logic...and it I don't really want to do that anymore."
"Fair enough, Jin." Kilik said. "Like I said... Alright. Just remember, don't go out of your way to do things for me so much. I'm happy with the simple things in life."
"I know, but don't get mad if I do go out of my way. I like doing it...and if I have the ability to do so..."
The rod-wielder nodded. "Alright. It's gonna be one thing I need to get used to, though."
"I'll try not to uh buy you plane tickets." Jin said quietly. And he was still holding Kilik's hand, and it felt rather calming. "I'm glad you didn't say no."
"I had no reason to," Kilik answered. "Are you tired? You want to go back inside?"
"I don't get very tired, Kilik." Jin sighed faintly. "But, I would like to lay down. Should I take you back to your home?" He wanted to make sure, he had heard Kilik earlier about staying over.
"It's almost 2 in the morning, Jin. Do you think I want to go home?" the rod-wielder asked. "Laying down somewhere sounds pretty good right now."
"I have two rooms." Jin said quietly. He wasn't sure if Kilik wanted to be near him in the night. "Unless you want to lay down with..." He trailed off slowly.
"Why would I mind laying next to you?" Kilik asked him. He stood up and took Jin's hand to get him to follow suit.
He considered for a moment. He knew Kilik was telling him the truth, he wouldn't lead him along. "If I move to much...when I fall asleep.....wake me up?"
"Sure," the rod wielder answered. "It's getting really late, anyway."
"Yeah. We should really get to sleep. I'll try to get some rest.." he smiled faintly. This was definately goign to be a learning experience. Glancing back up towards the stars once, he allowed Kilik to lead him towards slumber.
